URBAN DECAY SMOKY EYE PALETTE REVIEW

This is my third Urban Decay palette, and they never cease to impress. I absolutely adored the Naked palettes 1 and 3, so I thought I would try out their new one that everybody has being talking about. Starting off with the packaging. They have certainly outdone themselves as it is stunning, and I am in love with I every time I pick it up. They’ve gone for a marble metallic look and I’ll say it once again, I am in love.
When you open it up, there is a double sided brush, as always, but this time the brushes are different. One is amazing for applying and the other one for blending, and the bristles are extremely soft. The shades are actually quite similar to the original Naked palette, except it has a few darker coulours, and less nudes. I will admit, I haven’t picked it up often, and I’m not sure if I’m absolutely in love with it yet, but it’s definitely one to have in your collection, as it’s great for a dark dramatic smoky eye.
I have three favourite shades: High, which is a glittery vanilla colour, and is amazing for the inner corner of your eyes; Armor, a metallic silver that is definitely not an everyday shade, but certainly an beautiful one; and lastly Smolder, that’s a dark autumnal shade, that’s nearly on the purple side, without looking too unique, so it still looks amazing with just a little black dress. I’m still working out how exactly to combine the other shades in everyday life, especially as lately I’ve had a few new palettes to try, that you guys will see soon.
I definitely do recommend this palette though, it has the shades to create some beautiful looks, so send me a pic if you give it a go.
Do you own this palette? Love, Sara xx

PRIMER HEAVEN-CLINIQUE, BBOURJOIS...

Primer is the base of a makeup look, so to make sure you look good, you should have the best primers out there. I have chosen four that I adore, and that I use daily to keep my makeup on all day and to smooth out my skin. I chose two high end brands, and two drugstore ones, so that the price is accessible to everyone.
The first one is the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Base Primer. It’s very highlighting, so it’s great if it’s early in the morning and you want something to make you look alive and awake. It’s also really hydrating. So if you have dry skin, I recommend this primer to start off your makeup routine.
The next one is the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Primer. This primer is amazing if you have spots/pimples, and you want to smooth out your skin before applying foundation. It feels amazing on your skin, and it’s great to make your makeup last much longer.
The third one is the Bourjois happy Light Base Serum Matite. This one is extremely delicate on your skin, it’s great if your skin just needs to be prepped.
And the last one is the Make Up Forever Redness Correcting Primer. So, as the name implies, this primer helps to equalize your skin tone. If you have red patches on your face, this product will not disappoint you, and it will be sososo helpful.
These are my four favourite primers, what are yours?

NAKEDNESS:NAKED PALETTE 3

How can a product be loved so much? I ask myself that question often, especially when I’m looking at the Naked palette 3. It’s one of the most stunning palettes I own, and I really can’t get enough of the variety of pinky nudes that it offers. They’re all perfectly pigmented, perfect for a smokey eye or just a simple dab of sweet colour. I adore the matte colours, and they are my day to day shades, whereas the more shimmery colours are perfect for an evening out.
Dust and Nooner are my favourite shades, and I love achieving new looks every time I try a new combination of colours. The brush that comes incorporated in the palette is soft and easy to use, making the application absolutely flawless.
All the shades are absolutely beautiful, and even though I don’t think all of them are of daily use, I absolutely recommend it to anyone out there who is looking for a new stunning palette that radiates summer everywhere.

BENEFIT-GIMME BROW REVIEW

Brows are obviously an important feature of your face, so having them on pointe is something I strive for. Recently I was introduced to Gimme Brow by Benefit.
It is a mascara for you lashes that keeps them in place even during a busy and hectic day and fills in any gaps you may or may not have.
I find that, having blonde hair, the light/medium is the perfect colour. In some lights I think that it may just be a little bit too dark, but all in all it’s the lightest colour they have and in most lightings it looks fantastic.
The brush is really small, making it super easy to apply the product.
Even though Benefit can be more on the expensive side, all their products are most definitely worth it, including Gimme Brow.
If you ever have the chance to pick one up, definitely do, as it is a life saver and I don’t know how I used to live without it.
You can buy it here.
What do you use on your eyebrows?

SUMMER VIBES:DAISY DREAM AND YSL LIPSTICKS

English weather is extremely unpredictable, and even though this year summer is very hot and sunny, most years the heat takes a long time to get here, or never really arrives. Sometimes we need a breath of fresh, summery air even when it’s raining outside and you’re wearing a heavy Zara jumper(always been my absolute favourites). I’ve found that one of the only ways to feel like summer is actually here, is perfume. Now, I don’t know about you, but finding the perfect summer perfume is quite a task for me. I wanted a fresh, flowery scent, that somehow makes me feel happy and radiant.
I finally found IT when I smelt Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs the first time. Everyone talked about it last year, and it was the latest ‘everyone needs to try it’ product, but I wasn’t really one to fuss about perfumes back then. Now it’s my absolute favourite, and it just completes a summer day with it’s light and very flowery scent. It’s one of those perfumes that just makes you feel pretty even on a ‘ugh day’, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
But, the secret to feeling summery is not only perfume, but also lipsticks. Lipstick is the perfect way to brighten up your face on a very dull day, and I feel like the Rouge Couture collection by Yves Saint Laurent is exactly what you’ve been looking for.
The two shades that I picked out look like ‘summer at it’s best’ for me, and I love adding a splash of colour to my makeup look in this period of the year.
PINK RHAPSODY is a vibrant pink, very fresh and bright, that never fails to impress.
CORAIL POETIQUE on the other hand, is a light coral colour, that I absolutely adore. It’s simple and sophisticated and just has a ‘I’m pretty now’ feel to it. All the lipsticks in the collection are a mix between a matte finish and a dewy finish, leaving your lips exactly like they are normally, so as an effect, making you feel like you have nothing on your lips.
Summer is my favourite period of the year, and I love anything summery really, so these three products are perfect for me and any other summer lovers out there.
What are your favourite summer products?

BELLA OGGI ITALIA- SKYLINE PALETTE REVIEW

If you’re looking for a palette that includes everything, this is the one for you. The Bella Oggi Italia Skyline makeup kit includes 60 shades of eye shadows, 24 lipsticks, 2 blushes and 1 bronzer.
The eye shadows are placed in a neat order, so you can see straight away what shades look amazing together. Most of them have a light shimmer, while others are a matte finish. There are mainly shades of blue and pink, with some gold and silver thrown in here and there.
The lipsticks vary in colour, focusing mainly on pink and red. There are some purples and a few clear lip glosses as well, finishing off the collection nicely.
The blushes give a lively glow and the bronzer is perfect for lighter contouring.
This is one of my favourite palettes at the moment, and I created a look to show you guys, reflecting my anxiousness for spring to come!

I find that these shades are perfect for softer and more natural looks, as the coulours are subtle and sweet.
Do you know any Italian makeup brands?

LANCOME-OUI! EAU DE TOILETTE REVIEW

At first sight, this 30ml container is a simple and sophisticated bottle of perfume. I tried it in the shop, and my nose was filled with a wonderful scent of spring, and for some extremely strange reason, healthiness.
It is definitely  musky, and if you have a delicate nose I do not recommend it. But yet, it is strong and passionate, as if it is ready to conquer anyone who takes a sniff at it. It’s fresh and sweet with a certain tanginess to it that adds even more fabulousness to it. And hidden underneath, is a beautiful elderflower scent that reminds me of my childhood.

It comes in a very useful makeup bag, with a mirror and the Lancôme logo on the front.

What’s your favourite perfume?

YVES ROCHER-EXFOLIATING SHOWER GEL REVIEW

For Christmas a friend of my mother’s gave me a wonderful set of skin and bath related things from Yves Rocher. It’s all scented like strawberries and raspberries, and it very happily reminds me of summer.

One product from the set has been a everyday essential ever since. It’s the exfoliating shower gel that caught my attention, especially after I had tried it for the first time.

It’s strawberry scented, and had little seeds that really help to scrub away all the dirt from your body. I always feel extra clean when I use it, and it’s extremely refreshing as well. It lathers up making lots of wonderfully smelling bubbles, and I come out of the shower feeling like it’s a summer day, until I look outside and realize it’s about 7 degrees outside.

I absolutely love this shower gel, and in the future I will definitely have to try some other scents.

What shower gels do you use? Love, Sara xx

URBAN DECAY-NAKED PALETTE REVIEW

When my love for makeup started in about September, the first thing I wanted to buy was the Naked palette by Urban Decay. I’ve never seen a bad review for it and everyone always talks extremely highly of it. I was never interested in eye shadows before, mostly because I had no idea how to apply them, but this was a product that highly intrigued me.

I received it for my birthday in October, and since then it’s been a daily essential.

The coulours are neutral and go with anything. They’re perfect for a natural look or a glamorous night out. You can really never go wrong with it. The palette comes with a double-sided brush, which perfects the application.

If you’re on the lookout for a new palette, I raccomend it greatly. I know that this is the first palette, and the oldest one, but it’s ‘old but gold’, truly. I’m planning on getting the other 3 as well, to see if Urban Decay specializes in amazing palettes!

Do you use the Naked palette?

MAX FACTOR-FACE FINITY 3 IN 1 FOUNDATION REVIEW

Foundation is a product that you have to get right. You can’t go around with a foundation that isn’t right for your skin type, or is the wrong color.

I read about the Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 foundation, and immediately knew it was meant for me. I have quite oily skin naturally so I need a foundation with a matte finish.

This one, thankfully, is perfect for me. It gives a lively glow and definitely  makes me look more alive in the mornings just after I have woken up. It blends really easily and you can build up as much coverage as you want.

You can get it here.

What’s your favourite foundation at the moment?

Love, Sara xx
