SING IN FRONT OF A BIG CROWD #19
Since I’ve
was a little girl, one of my dreams has been to be a singer and sing in front
of a big crowd. As some of you might know, in March 2014 I joined a band called
Sound Chemistry. We play melodic-punk-rock, and I really love our music. We
write our own songs, and recently we got the chance to play live twice. Both times
there were about 100 to 200 people watching, and I was nervous to say the
least. Playing live for any musician is amazing, a dream come true. Even though
people didn’t know our songs, and some maybe weren’t even listening, it still
felt incredible to have people hear our work.
Lots of times we back out of
things because we’re scared that we might mess up, but I can guarantee you that
even if you mess up, you’ll just laugh about it later. It’s better to try and
then maybe decide to never do it again, than to never try, and regret it one
day. If you want to listen to our band: here is our youtube channel.

RECORD AN ALBUM #21
In march
2014 I joined a band. We’re called Sound Chemistry and we play melodic rock
music. Singing is one of my greatest passions, and I love the process of
writing and creating new content. In December, we decided to record an EP. We
already had 10 songs, so we had to pick our 4 favourites to feature on the
album. After that, we only really had to decide a name. We had different ideas,
but none of them really appealed to us, until my brother (also the bass player)
suggested we named it Underground Fairytales. Now, you’re probably thinking
‘Isn’t that the name of your blog?’ I named my blog after the album, with their
permission, as I fell in love with it. We spent 11 hours in the studio,
recording again and again those four songs, until we felt they were perfect. If
you want to check out our sound, we have a youtube channel with these four
songs.
Do you sing or play any instruments?

CATERING FOR A DINNER PARTY #30
This year
my parents both turned 50. So to celebrate their birthdays we organized two
parties. Chiara, a friend of mine, and I, decided to cater for both. The first one
was at the end of June, in Italy, with about 100 people. The second one, on the
other hand, was more of a dinner party for about 20 people, and in the Uk. We started
deciding the dishes one week in advance, and went shopping on the Thursday
before the party. On Friday we cooked nearly everything, and I was really proud
of the results.
This was
the menu for the evening:
Vegetables and
dips(hummus and olive and caper dip)
Parmesan and
garlic breadsticks
It was an
amazing turnout, and the food was absolutely delicious, if I do say so myself. I’m
really proud of me and Chiara, as we managed to make all of this and serve
everything, even if lots of it had to be done at the last minute!
If you’re
interested in any of the recipes, just let me know down below and I’ll write
some food blog posts soon.

MAKE SUSHI #40
I’m not
sure if any of you know, but I’m a scout.
Last year I was extremely honored to be chosen as one of the Italian contigent’s participants at the Jamboree in August 2015. This means that I’ll be going to Japan next summer for two weeks, spending them with 35 thousand other teenagers from around the world.
In preparation for this extremely exciting date, 40 of us Italians reunited and spent a weekend together. In the evening we decided that we should try something new, so we learned to make sushi, and made a meal of it.

Although
our attempts pretty much failed, I decided that from then on I would go to a
sushi restaurant now and then to get used to the taste. All in all
it was great fun and I learned a new skill, so I’m pleased with it. I can’t
wait till august, when I’ll actually get to taste real Japanese sushi!
Have you
ever tried or made sushi? And are any
of you from Japan? Love, Sara xx
